4 Freedoms of Invisalign

When people think of getting their teeth straightened, they often picture having lots of metal wires and brackets in their mouth. But since 1997, Invisalign changed how we do that. These are clear trays that you can take out, and they’re much nicer to look at than metal braces. Plus, they have a bunch of good things about them compared to regular braces. Keep reading to learn about the top four benefits of using Invisalign.

#1: Eat Freely

Regular braces mean you can’t eat lots of different foods until your treatment ends. This includes things like bagels, licorice, popcorn, chips, caramel, gum, nuts, hard candies, corn on the cob, apples, carrots, and taffy.

But with Invisalign, you can enjoy these treats and more when you’re not wearing your aligners. Just make sure to take them out before eating or drinking anything other than water, so you don’t stain or damage them.

#2: Socialize Without Worry

Regular braces are good at fixing crooked teeth and bite problems, but they can be big and hard to clean. They often trap foods like spinach, lettuce, and broccoli, which can make you feel awkward around others. With Invisalign, though, you can take them out to brush and floss your teeth after eating. This means you can hang out, chat, and laugh without feeling embarrassed!

#3: Little to No Discomfort or Irritation

Regular braces sometimes have pointy wires and brackets that can scratch or bother your tongue, cheeks, and gums. When you switch to a new set of Invisalign trays, it might make your teeth a bit sore, but lots of people think this is better than how regular braces feel.

Feeling a little uncomfortable comes from the gentle pressure that Invisalign uses to shift your teeth into place. But because Invisalign is smooth, comfy, and easy to clean, a few days of feeling this way isn’t much compared to how nice your smile will look in the end.

#4: Smile with Confidence

Invisalign and regular braces both use pressure to move your teeth, but only clear aligners do it in a way that’s hard to see. Metal braces stand out a lot and can make you feel shy about your smile. But with Invisalign, lots of people won’t even realize you’re wearing them!

Invisalign does more than just straighten your teeth. If you want to improve your smile, talk to your orthodontist and start your journey toward a more confident grin!
